What is Heat Stroke?

Heat stroke is the most severe form of heat-related illness, occurring when the body's temperature regulation system fails. The body temperature rises rapidly (above 104°F or 40°C), the sweating mechanism fails, and the body cannot cool down. This is a medical emergency that can cause damage to the brain, heart, kidneys, and other organs, and can be fatal if not treated promptly.
