Horner's Syndrome
Understanding ptosis, miosis, and sympathetic pathway disorders
What is Horner's Syndrome?
Horner's syndrome is a disorder affecting the sympathetic nervous system of the face, causing a characteristic trio of symptoms: drooping eyelid (ptosis), constricted pupil (miosis), and decreased sweating on one side of the face (anhidrosis). It results from interruption of the sympathetic nerve pathway at any point from the brain to the eye.
